Love for Neighbor
Theme: Flourishing life means loving, serving and sharing Christ with others.
“Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” Romans 13:10 God gave the Jewish people more than 650 laws explaining how they should treat Him and how they should treat other people. Those laws had no power to help His chosen people become better. Instead, the Law of Moses only helped them to see how rebellious and sinful we have all become. We will never fulfill all of those hundreds of laws by trying to be good, but that is not the purpose of the Law. Moses laid down the Law to identify the problem of our sin; Jesus laid down His life as the only solution for our sin. When a person SEES the problem of their sin, they will SEIZE the solution found in Christ with a passion embrace. That person will have the highest love for their Savior and all those He died for. This love does no wrong to a neighbor; this love fulfills requirements of the Law.
